First day with my host family

This morning I slept very long since I was soooo exhausted. At about 10:30 AM my host mom knocked on my door and told me that breakfast will be ready in 10‘. When I came into the kitchen I saw that she had made pancakes, scambled eggs, melon and pineapple cut into pieces and there were even strawberries on the table. I especially enjoyed the pancakes 🙂

While we were having breakfast Ximena (my lovely host sister) suggested to go bowling and ask some friends to come along. So her and my host brother texted some friends and invited them to go bowling. Ximena brought her best friend Gabi, who is a really fun girl and Luis (my host brother) asked Alex and Natan (both family friends) to come with us.

At the bowling alley we played one round and afterwards we played pool for about an hour. When we left we directly went to an outdoor mall to get me some school clothing. Jeans are not allowed at school for about three days of the week. So I got some pants and polo shirts and with size 0 existing in the US, I finally found pants that fit me…..

When we got home, we sat on the couch and watched a few different channels and talked. Once the topic „country stereotypes“ came up we all had a blast. Apparently cultures are perceived completely different in other places! After a while we started watching a disney show together which was actually kind of nice 😉

When I got a bit hungry because we hadn‘t had dinner, my mom made me this brisket sandwich. This is so cute and obviously made with love ❤️.

Honestly, I think I hit the jackpot with my host family. It was so awesome when my host mom today at the bowling alley referred to me as her second daughter 🙂
