Today I had lunch with the Landrum family, the same family friends as yesterday. They are really nice and they always come up with new ideas of places where they could take me. So today we ate at a really cool burger restaurant called „Liberty Burger“. The food was so gooooood! Talked had really long conversations and all in all we spent about 3 hours in that restaurant.
When they dropped me off at my house, it wasn‘t too long until my host mom came home from work. She looked really exhausted, apparently the kids keep her on the go! At about 5 pm we left the house for the birthday dinner of my host moms twin aunts. Some of the relatives, that were present, didn‘t speak any English, so Ximena and Luis constantly had to translate back and forth. Mexican people seem to be very embracing and welcoming. When meeting them, they directly hug you and Perlas mother called me her temporary granddaughter <3
The food was quite good but I was still full from lunch. But thank god it was a buffet, so I just went with some salad and a bit of chicken. To my surprise, the get-together was over very quickly. At 6:30 pm we were already back in the car on our way home. Since it was this early, I asked my host mom to stop at a store, so I could buy a school planner to note assignments and homework. The first store didn‘t have one but as I have learnt here so far, is that if you don‘t find what you with for in one store, you just go to the next. In Target we finally found what I had been looking for.
Back home we watched a couple of episodes of „Friends“ and then I started packing everything I need for school. After taking a shower I went to the backyard and sat on the couche, reading a few more pages of this book I have to read for English class.

Tomorrow will be the first day of High School. I‘m really excited and actually not too freaked out. The good thing is, that my host siblings don‘t have early band practice, which means that they‘ll be riding the bus with me!
