I‘m coming home

Like the title already says, I will have to return home by force this Saturday. Because of the coronavirus, EF has decided to send all exchange students home without any exceptions. A few days ago, Karen — my Local Exchange Coordinator — tried to encourage us exchange students to go home. On Wednesday night she facetimed all Wylie exchange students and tried to convince us that time, since before that all of us had decided to stay. She was soooooo rude to us and she intended to scare us into leaving. Even the Italian girl, who usually is the teacher‘s pet, was upset at Karen. But nevertheless, me and my fellow exchange students didn‘t give in and were determined to stay.

The next day I received an email in the morning from EF, saying that they will force us to go home and the first flights would be on Saturday. I rushed out of my room and asked my host parents if they are actually sending me home and my host mom said that she had just received a call from Karen. I was really sad about it. We woke up Ximena and we spent about 20 minutes crying together.

I then posted on Snapchat that I have to go home and three friends asked if they could see me in person before I leave. So I went to their houses to say goodbye and Michelle even wrote me a really cute note <3

In the evening I hung out with my my host family and my host dad even returned from Mexico so we could spend Friday together.
